The screenshot above is taken from the iLime signup page.  It’s an interesting choice — to highlight savings over your competitor — even more so, to literally use their name.
I don’t like it.  It’s the wrong thing to do.
When a new market is being established, when you choose to compete on price, you’ve just set the expectation that you’re the second-ran company in the market.  There are no other side by side comparisons of features, just that iLime is cheaper than Urban Airship.
So what does that tell me?  That I need to look at the Urban Airship guys to see why they feel what they provide is more valuable.  Is it?  I have no idea.  I do know that I like the UA guys better than the iLime guys, but that’s just a personal opinion.
I met both companies while at iPhoneDevCamp 3, and to be honest the Urban Airship guys were more on top of their game.  They’re also the only ones that have been in contact with me since IPDC3.  So perhaps they clearly are the winners here.
